for this second release, we have assembled 4 tracks for the dance floor! on side a, we begin with a powerful house track -wurly- by vitess, young french talent and followed by an energetic soul funk -paradis fiasco- from bwi-bwi (fr / lüüd discs / strctr records). we continue on side b with gzz (fr / sure cuts limited) and his -provence state of mind- fat rhodes and funk loop track. we finish with -nyc bumpin- in the pure chicago style by reece johnson (uk / 124 recordings / nervous records) we tried to make a record with different styles for different people.

i released the original 12inch volume of five fingers of death battle breaks way back in 1998, while i was living in oakland and then san francisco during a time of incredible movement and creativity within the suddenly exploding scratch dj scene. the term turntablist, coined by dj disk, had yet to really catch on outside of the bay area scratch fraternity. having recently moved to california from new york, pauls turntable aesthetics were strictly 80s east coast and was more concerned with catching doubles (beat juggling) and overall party rocking. in other words, the science of scratching was not something i was even contemplating.needless to say, i was completely amazed and overwhelmed with what djs like qbert, shortcut, apollo and mixmaster mike were doing. sosure music are pleased to present the *looking back ep* from hollis parker. london based hollis parker kick started the sosure music imprint last year with *the tunnel* ep which saw support from the likes of kink, iron curtis, dj sneak, larry heard and charles webster. a testament to the striking authentic house sound embodied in his productions.

rummage in some boxes of my favourite record store i found a cover that made me curious. l kubic & tagträumer² - the only thing in this world and on the flipside a remix by alle farben. when placing the needle at the beginning of the vinyl the first sounds were very strange. i thought that must be a record from the 60s lost in the tech-house box but than a straight beat turned everything different. a piano melody slowly sat down firmly in my ear and i was longing to know where the journey takes me. after a while an acidline pushed everything and i was sure at this time this is not a normal 4/4 tech-house record. alle farben remixed the themes very playful and i heard that he gives the elements more pressure for the club. so at the end i bought this one and i cannot imagine taking this unique record ever again out of my record case.

another debut on full pupp henning severud is telephones, hailing from bergen but recently relocated to berlin. as a special treat prins thomas regurgitates the track with a little gastric acid.
